New Orleans Airboat Adventures has the right boat for any size party.
Located about 30 miles from New Orleans’ city center, you’ll feel a world away. Staying without a car? Don’t sweat it, you can arrange for hotel pickup as well so you don’t have to worry. We opted for this since it seemed more reliable than an Uber– if anything went wrong and we missed our boat, that was on them, not us. But of course everything went smoothly and as planned and this was a great swamp tour in New Orleans.
We were there in September and wanted to avoid some of the heat and humidity, so we booked a morning ride. The only problem with this was we got picked up with their shuttle around 7:30am, which didn’t give us much time to sleep off our hangovers. The shuttle ride took a bit of time, which worked out perfectly as I was able to get in a quick power nap and help with my hangover.
Once we arrived, we got to check out their albino gator inside, use the bathroom, get some water for the ride, and get on the boat. We did a small boat tour as we wanted more intimacy and better views (no one to block our views!). The ride starts off slow and quickly picks up speed. The wind whipping your face immediately wipes out your hangover. The small boat not only goes faster than the large, but it allows you to get into smaller areas so you see more. Being such a small group we were all able to feed the gators (and racooon) and we all were able to hold the baby alligator at the end. It’s slightly more expensive but well-worth it if you ask for my opinion.
The larger boats don’t go as fast or in as private areas, but they are cheaper and more ideal for large groups. You can compare your options below.

Our large boat tours offer an awesome group experience with up to 30 of your best friends! Don’t have a huge group? You can still book this option for however many are in your party! The large boat tour costs $55 per person.
Optional roundtrip transportation from Greater New Orleans hotels is an additional $20 per person. Children must be at least five years old to ride.
